Working memory is the capacity to store information in an individual’s temporary memory in order to perform a task involving multiple sequences and steps of operation. Many people with dyslexia also have working memory difficulties.
There are two types of working memory: auditory memory and visual-spatial memory.
Auditory short-term memory records what you’re hearing and is important in both reading and spelling acquisition and can also impact upon memory for verbal instructions.
